R. Cadell Cook is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and sound designer based in Maryland, USA. His career spans over two decades in broadcast post-production and a decade in independent filmmaking, during which he has cultivated a distinctive multimedia approach.

Early Life and Education

After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Recording Technology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Cadell embarked on a journey as a post-production sound mixer and designer. This period honed his technical skills and deepened his appreciation for the auditory elements of storytelling.

Transition to Writing and Filmmaking

Cadell's passion for creative writing and storytelling led him to launch House Cat Creative Publishing. Under his imprint he has published his novel, "Weepers," which has impressed and inspired readers. His foray into screenwriting began with a 48-hour film festival, introducing him to the screenplay format and sparking his interest in filmmaking.

Notable Works and Achievements

His accolades include Best Screenplay at the Pan African Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Prince George’s Film Festival, Best Short Film at the Charlotte Black Film Festival, and Best Original Story at the CineOdyssey Film Festival.
